All Abilities

South Bay Polo was created to give people a chance to experience MORE POLO.  You don’t have to be a Prince to play “the Sport of Kings”. They accommodate all levels of play and can provide professional training in the sport as well as provide horse rentals for the games.

The Horses

The horses are a big component of polo.  They need to be trained for the high speed bumping, and contact that happens on the field.  The tails are braided to prevent getting caught up in the mallets and the mane are shaved – well – so they don’t look like a sissy.

The Action

Watching polo can almost be as exhilarating. Fans, Friends and Family are encouraged to fill the sidelines and watch the action. Picnicking and tailgating are popular activities for the crowd.

Arena Polo

Arena Polo is very popular, and is played as a interscholastic and collegians sport.  The area is much smaller than field polo, but can be very fast.

Field Polo

Field Polo is what comes in mind when people think of polo.  Often called “Hockey on Horseback” this is a high speed, high impact game.
